Hours before her last breath…..

That’s how my granny and grandpa were.

A very big hai to everyone who are following my blog posts. It’s been long since I have posted. I was busy with Iniya, handling her growth phase and introduced Bharathanatyam to her. Yes, I was searching for a person who can be close to her while learning and when I came to know that there is a person in her friends gang, I felt the chance for her has arrived. Yes, my younger brother’s friends are her friends. For people saying that it’s early to introduce the art, for us #reneeandinnus it’s learning a new art. Along with this we are quite busy in upgrading our works on #iniyaworld to the next level.

Let’s move on to today’s topic. Today’s post can be a home made ready for cough and cold conveyed by my granny, during the hours before her last breath. Since his whole family was in our home in Tübingen I had the chance to be in Skype in his laptop after Sunday service. To my memory it was on 27th Dec 2015, we joined Skype in Thuckalay. Though my granny was tired after discharge from hospital, she joined us. The same silly fight for sweets and pickle happened and it ended in mins. Yes, though she should avoid them she was so crazy for them. Soon she asked me to give innus a millet drink, which can be introduced after six months. Though I was afraid she explained the way I should prepare.

The method involves the following procedure. A tea spoon full of ragi flour (homemade) in a tumbler, add water needed to soak the powder and wait till it gets soaked for 15 mins. When I was doing that she was in Skype giving me instructions with the same old tone….. when the powder gets soaked the water turns to the color of milk. Drain them carefully using white cotton cloth and boil them by stirring continuously in slow flame to avoid hard pieces forming. Remove them from stove or induction when it reaches the semi solid nature. I served them in a silver bowl to get cool down and started to feed her, placing on my lap. During this time the Skype got disconnected and everyone in India became unreachable. Since I felt it’s network issue and it’s late in India I decide to ring them in the morning. They hid that to avoid me from planning to reach India since his parents were leaving on Jan 1st. Hope you all have read the post on coffee love.

When the Skype got disconnected I heard her saying “do give her the diet regularly”. After a week I came to know that those were her last words… From that I worn innus the gold bangles which came all the way to #germany and gave her the ragi twice in a week. After six months it became normal diet for her. Gradually it became a custom for we three to drink a cup of ragi before breakfast. When winter knocked I used to add pepper and a pinch of powdered dried ginger while boiling and honey after it cools down. We should drink a cup of this before breakfast. This gradually reduced the cough and cold.

Our life in Tuebingen

Thats how our Sunday’s will pass on in Tuebingen….

Those diys were the one which saved our time wasting on Skype and so on.

Our very first visit to Metzingen the outlet city in Baden Württemberg

A very big hai to everyone who are following my blog posts.

Hope you all have read my previous post on Hyperemesis Gravidarum, the way we found a doctor who can speak English in Tübingen. Let me continue the sufferings of the after effects of my travel in bus in today’s post. As I said earlier whenever I walk for ten mins continuously, I should fast for two days. The same happened after my doctor’s visit and I ought to get admitted for IV in hospital. Since he has to complete a paper for ICRA 2016 we had no other option. Yes, we stayed home without getting hospitalized. Meanwhile, we got an intimation call from Münster that they are visiting us during their return from Switzerland. We had only one option left, that’s take care of them with Tamil tradition and roam with them. I meant the word Tamil tradition to denote the way we served them in Tübingen, yes we had South Idian dishes for those days that too with some specials. For a person who can’t even hold her head straight because of severe vomit, is like climbing Everest during pregnant. They were waiting for kids so there was no issue for them to roam. But in my case, I should count each second for safe travel. They were in Tübingen for a weekend and since the shops are completely shut on Sundays, we ought to plan outing on other days. Thats how they planned and we had the visit to the outlet city for their shopping of branded goods. They planned Metzingen  visit for the brands available there. And we had the Stockerkahn drive in Tübingen. A special boat ride available in Tübingen. We roamed around the city for three days, while behind the scenes had vomit, ending on bleeding. That’s ok for today’s post.

Every post makes me to remember all those sufferings I had during the pregnancy and I feel hard to write all those sufferings in a single post. So I will continue them on next post. Keep on reading to know what HG is all about.

Before closing today’s post I would like to introduce a person’s post who have explained the effects of hypermesis gravidarum. Do check out her video and learn what’s all about….hypermesis gravidarum.

An awareness post -child locks for kid’s safety #2

A very big hai to everyone who are following my blog posts.

It’s been long since I have updated an awareness post. Today let’s have an awareness post for kids. Hope you all have read my previous post which states our living cum kitchen. Since we ought to spend our time in kitchen for most of the hours, it became tough for me to handle my daughter. Since we ought to take care of her from being hurt by modular kitchen, we found some hacks.

The above pic has the hack for locking drawers in tables .

The pic above has the lock for doors in modular kitchen.

This is the door lock which I used as draw blocker. When used in drawer, it doesn’t get closed completely. This prevent the fingers of our little one getting hurt while closing the drawers, during cooking. I got this from Firstcry in India, while the first two types of locks were from Drogerie Markt in Germany.

I hope these hacks will be useful for someone who is struggling to handle kids all alone. Keep on reading the posts.

Soon we will update another awareness post.

Learning along with Innus -5 #acorn or oaknut

A very big hai to everyone who are following my blog posts.

We (#reneeandinnus) hope you are all learning new words along with us.

Today let’s collect some acorns during fall weather in Germany. Yes acorn, a small nut with a single seed enclosed in a tough shell. On seeing those nuts, my mind went back to our visits at our ancestral place in Marthandam, where my mom’s granny lived. Those good old days enjoying Ice age movie with Iniya’s grandpa. There comes an acorn in the movie, a nut being chased by a squirrel, where the chasing occurs throughout the movie. All those memories made us to collect some nuts lying all around our home in Tübingen. They became a part of our advent wreath which we were making to welcome the advent. Keep on waiting for our 2018 advent wreath.

That’s how we #reneeandinnus learn words during our walk through the forest.

Our travel from Frankfurt to Tübingen during daysbefore Innus

A very big hai to everyone who are following my blog posts.

Hope you all have travelled from India to Frankfurt via Doha. Today let’s have a look on our travel journey from Frankfurt to Tübingen. Yes, we ought to travel southwards in Germany to reach our home in Tuebingen where he was pursuing his PhD in University of Tuebingen.

Since we had our early flight from Trivandrum, the capital of God’s own country, we landed up on Frankfurt at afternoon. Due to time change and improper diet on flight, I was very hungry and kept on nagging him to find something. To control my nagging he searched for a cafeteria, to have a mini lunch. Since we should be careful on intake because a small stimulation  of anything will end up in vomittting, which could  further end up in hospitalization. To catch our connectivity train to Stuttgart we ought to cross the road and we reached the first floor of the station. Somehow we crossed and reached the first floor with all those luggages. Meanwhile we found a cafeteria and he ordered something for me, since hotels were rare in my life. The person in charge parceled something which he ordered. I was shocked to see the parcel, since it was a sliced hard coat bread filled with lettuce, eggs and yogurt. Somehow I had those eggs and bread, without any stimulation of vomit. Finally, we ought to catch the train to Stuttgart and we reached the station. Though the view was awesome my health was getting detoriated and I had a short nap during our travel to Stuttgart. We reached Stuttgart train station and our train was waiting in next platform.

But my condition was very bad and made us to miss the train so we waited for half an hour to catch our next train to Tübingen. At last after a day long travel we reached Tübingen….and the longer days are waiting to welcome me….
